Nikita Lomakin, Chief Cardiologist of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, Head of the Department of Emergency Cardiology of the Central Clinical Hospital of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, told how to safely fly the cores.

In conversation with aif.ru On Wednesday, April 30, the specialist explained that out of every 6,000 flights, there is one severe case of thrombosis, which, depending on the location of the thrombus, usually leads to a heart attack, stroke or pulmonary embolism (PE).

The cores are at risk more than others in flight, and they often develop blood clots on the background of atherosclerosis on the Ground.

The doctor advised wearing loose and comfortable clothes on the plane that do not restrict movement. It is also better to unlace your shoes or take them off altogether. Every hour during the flight, you should drink a glass of water, perform the simplest exercises, raising your arms and shoulders, rotating your head, feet, hands, bending your legs at the knee joints, wiggling your fingers and toes. It is also useful to walk around the salon.

The doctor also warned against drinking alcohol on the flight and even the day before it. If a person is at risk, they should consult with their doctor about additional individual preventive measures before flying, and at the same time clarify whether it is necessary to use compression knitwear during the flight.

Earlier, internist Irina Gubanova advised people with asthma and diabetes to refrain from flying on airplanes so as not to worsen their condition. According to her, also among the contraindications for flights are decompensated heart failure, infectious diseases, shortness of breath, edema, uncontrolled, allergies.
