Brazil supports the expansion of partnership between the BRICS countries in the fight against terrorism. This was announced on Wednesday, April 30, by the special assistant to the Head of state for International Affairs, Celso Amorim.

"Brazil has already submitted <...> specific proposals to stimulate the capabilities of specialized agencies," TASS quoted him as saying.

Amorim added that meetings of national security advisers of the BRICS countries have been held since 2009, thanks, among other things, to the creation of working groups on combating terrorism.

Earlier in the day, the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shoigu, said that the association should oppose the glorification of Nazi criminals, as well as defend the historical truth. He noted that Europe has forgotten to whom they owe their deliverance from fascism, which is why there is a massive rewriting of history and glorification of criminals.
