Slovak parliament says interested in oil and gas supplies from Russia

Slovakia is still interested in Russian gas and Russian oil and is carrying out a lot of political work at the level of the European Commission and the European Council in order to resume these supplies. Tibor Gašpar, vice-speaker of the republic's parliament, told Izvestia in an interview.
"Slovakia is still interested in Russian gas and Russian oil and we are doing a lot of political work at the European level, at the level of the European Commission, the European Council, so that these supplies are resumed. We don't want to buy more expensive gas and oil if possible," Gaspar told Izvestia.
The full version of the interview will be published on May 1 at 00:01.
Earlier it became known that the EC is considering a ban on the conclusion of new gas contracts with Russia. On April 4, a member of the European Parliament (EP) from Slovakia Lubosh Blaga told "Izvestia" about the intention to return the transit of Russian gas to the European Union (EU) through its territory. He added that the situation is so absurd that even Western countries, which "feel hatred" towards Russia, buy liquefied natural gas (LNG) from it and then sell it in Europe.
