- The media reported on the ban in Estonia on May 9 of symbols related to the Russian Federation.

The Estonian Police and Border Guard Department has banned public demonstrations and marches, as well as demonstrations of symbols related to the Russian Federation, on the eve of Victory Day. This was reported on April 30 by ERR.
"These days [from May 8 to May 10] it is forbidden to hold marches, rallies or speeches," the publication says.
It is specified that the ban will be in effect in Tallinn and a number of counties. On these dates, the Estonian police will work in an enhanced mode to monitor the implementation of the ban.
According to the newspaper, violators face arrest or a fine of € 2.4 thousand. People who help organize or call for marches will also be held accountable.
On April 7, the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) of the Russian Federation reported that the Latvian authorities were working on plans for the mass destruction of war memorials in the country in order to overshadow the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory. The SVR noted that Riga's behavior demonstrates a lack of honor, dignity and a sense of gratitude.
