An organizer of a criminal community has been arrested in the case of embezzlement of money from its members.

The Basmanny Court of Moscow has arrested Alexei Kabochkin, whom the investigation considers to be the organizer of a criminal group that extorted and stole money from participants in a Special military operation at Sheremetyevo Airport. This was announced on April 30 by the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the capital.

"The organizer of the criminal community has been sent to the Moscow pre—trial detention center in a case of extortion, theft and fraud on an especially large scale," the court said in a statement on its Telegram channel.

It is specified that the court considered it necessary to choose a preventive measure for the accused in the form of detention for a period of two months.

Earlier that day, the court arrested six defendants who stole money from the participants of the SVO arriving at Sheremetyevo Airport. It is specified that the defendants stole money by committing theft, extortion and fraudulent actions.
