ERA Technopolis discussed new ways to combat drones

On April 30, the ERA Military Innovation Technopolis (VIT) hosted a strategic session on the application of new ways to combat drones (UAVs).
The meeting was led by Denis Manturov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. The event was attended by members of the Board of the Military-Industrial Commission of the Russian Federation, representatives of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, central military authorities, enterprises of the military-industrial complex (MIC) and research organizations.
During the meeting, they discussed improving the effectiveness of the fight against UAVs and FPV drones at the tactical level.
"We need to respond promptly and implement an approach similar to solving the problem of counter-battery warfare. An experimental combat testing of advanced systems and complexes was organized in the SVO zone on this topic," Manturov stressed.
He noted the importance of creating complexes for detecting, guiding, controlling, suppressing and destroying drones and combining them into a single system.
During the session, the participants were also shown promising samples of equipment and weapons, as well as tactics for using drones during their training.
In particular, automated UAV identification, guidance and control systems were introduced to intercept and destroy enemy drones without operator involvement. Such installations use artificial intelligence technologies that allow them to detect, classify and hit targets.
Earlier that day, Rostec State Corporation announced the development of the Solaris NS system, which will protect Russian territories from UAVs. The complex is capable of detecting unauthorized drones and purposefully suppressing their control channels, preventing the drones from changing frequency and leaving the affected area.
