A Russian man injured in a US strike on a Yemeni port needs surgery

A Russian who was on board the Seven Pearls ship at the time of the US strike on Yemen was hospitalized in the capital Sanaa and needs a complex operation. This was announced on April 30 at the Russian Embassy in Yemen.

"The Embassy confirms that a Russian citizen, a member of the ship's crew, is in a hospital in Sanaa, probably as a result of a US airstrike on infrastructure facilities in the aforementioned Yemeni port. Due to the nature of his injuries, he will need a complex operation," the message on the Telegram channel of the diplomatic mission says.

In addition, two Russian citizens were slightly injured, there is no threat to their lives, the condition of the victims is stable.

It clarifies that the Russian Embassy in Yemen is monitoring the situation of our citizens and is ready to provide them with all possible assistance.

On the evening of April 26, Jamal Amer, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Houthi government in Sanaa, announced the injured sailors from the Russian Federation. He specified that Roman Kashpor, Igor Kazachenko and Artyom Vanin were injured. Later, a representative of the Seven Pearls crew announced that the Russians had been transferred to Sanaa. According to him, there were 21 Russians on the ship, including citizens with chronic diseases who need to be examined.

On the morning of April 26, Al Masirah TV channel reported on a series of airstrikes by the United States on the territory of Yemen under the control of the Houthis from the Ansar Allah movement. It was clarified that Washington carried out an attack on Sanaa, as well as on the provinces of Saada, Al-Mahwit and Al-Hodeidah. According to the TV channel, one person was killed and another was injured as a result of the strikes.
