The expert named promising IT professions for schoolchildren

Among the promising professions in IT is a software developer, an artificial intelligence (AI) specialist, Anton Vasiliev, director of the Hexlet IT College, told Izvestia on May 3.
Speaking about software developers, the expert noted that programming remains the main language of the digital world. This is a fundamental competence that is in demand in any industry.
Artificial intelligence and machine learning specialists will also be important.
"AI technologies are rapidly being introduced into all spheres of life. Neural networks are already moving beyond IT, into medicine, transport, and public services. We need people who can not just connect ChatGPT, but understand how models work and where they can be useful," explained Vasiliev.
At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that data is being stolen from some companies, websites from schools, and money from banks. And without cybersecurity, no serious IT project works, so cybersecurity specialists remain in demand.
In addition, robotics engineers will be popular, because the industry is switching to automation and the market needs people who can configure and program robots, and not just assemble them according to instructions.
"Mechatronics [is also in demand], because modern hardware without software logic is already yesterday," Vasiliev added.
According to him, there are not enough such people in companies and it is impossible to train them in one or two years. It's a growth job.
At the same time, he said that it is necessary to take into account the interests of the child when choosing a profession.
"Otherwise, there will be a story of "dad wanted an engineer, but he turned out to be an unhappy accountant." If a teenager's eyes light up when he models in 3D or writes simple code, this is a signal. And if everything goes through the force, even a promising profession will turn into burnout," the expert explained.
Explaining how to support a child in choosing a profession, he clarified that it is necessary to give him a chance to study in clubs, summer schools, and participate in projects. This way he will know if he really likes what he has chosen.
You should also show him real people — invite him to a meeting with a practicing designer, programmer, engineer.
At the same time, you should not be afraid of changes, since choosing a profession is not a decision for 40 years. It's normal if you want to do one thing at the age of 15 and another at the age of 20.
"[We need] to keep a balance — not to substitute our own ideas for the child's choice, but also not to let things take their course. It is important not to "decide for him," but to be there when he decides for himself," Vasiliev concluded.
Earlier, on January 26, it was reported that among the Russians surveyed, 37% are confident that for a successful career a child needs to start earning at school age. Last year, there were 19% of such respondents. This is stated in the results of the <url> financial marketplace research.
