The key skill in modern conditions is the ability to work with artificial intelligence (AI), rather than compete with it. This was the opinion expressed by Valentina Kurenkova, Director of Interaction with government Agencies at Netologiya and head of the GR department of the Association for Innovations in Education of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in an interview with Izvestia on May 4.

"Neural networks give us the most important advantage — the ability to delegate operational and routine tasks to them. Neural networks save time for strategic and creative tasks, freeing employees from routine," she said.

She added that in an environment where AI takes over template operations, creativity, emotional intelligence and the ability to think outside the box are especially valued.

"Emotional intelligence (EQ) is the quality that is most difficult for a machine to imitate. It includes empathy, communication skills, teamwork, and conflict resolution. The chatbot is limited to a template response, and a person is able to sense the mood of the interlocutor and find an individual approach. Therefore, people with high EQ will always be in demand," the specialist explained.

According to her, today owning neural networks is no longer an advantage, but a mandatory requirement. However, the key factor remains how a person applies these technologies in their work.

"Today, it's not enough just to be a good specialist — you need to be able to work in partnership with AI, using it for routine and reserving creative and strategic tasks," Kurenkova said.

In addition, in the new conditions, those who can combine technological literacy with purely human qualities such as creativity, emotional intelligence and the ability to make informed decisions will stand out.

"Those who simply use AI for template solutions risk losing out to those who combine technology with a unique approach and expertise," Kurenkova summed up.

Earlier, on February 14, Andrey Varivoda, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the DEACON Group of Companies, told Izvestia that mass implementation of AI systems in regional medical institutions is expected by 2026. He also clarified that more than 30 AI-based services for analyzing medical images are known in Russia. The systems help doctors to detect oncological diseases, pathologies of the lungs and the cardiovascular system at an early stage.
