Russians named the reasons that prevent them from doing fitness

Among the Russians surveyed, 37% of respondents said that fatigue (37%) and being busy at work (30%) prevent them from exercising regularly. This is stated in the results of a survey of the federal network of fitness clubs DDX Fitness, which was reviewed by Izvestia on May 2.
Experts noted that fatigue often turns out to be a vicious circle: without regular activity, energy becomes less and fatigue becomes higher.
Laziness was recognized as an obstacle by 20% of the survey participants, and 6% named the lack of funds for classes and the lack of a suitable program.
"Adding physical activity to the daily routine is not only a contribution to health, but also the prevention of metabolic syndrome, hypertension, atherosclerosis and even diabetes. And often, starting with small things — short exercises, walks — a person is surprised at how his well—being and mood change," said Alyona Averyanova, DDX Fitness fitness coach.
At the same time, in Moscow, taking care of the health of residents is a much higher priority (68%) than in the regions. In the capital, the pace of life is higher, which means that the stress level is higher, so citizens have to carefully monitor their well-being in order to withstand daily stress. In addition, the capital offers a wider range of fitness clubs, wellness programs and prevention centers.
The most popular reason to postpone health care in Moscow was the lack of free time (22%), and in the regions — financial difficulties (up to 23% of respondents in St. Petersburg, the Volga region, Siberia, Tyumen and the Altai Territory).
When the time comes to think about their health, Russians turn to different sources of information. 30% rely on personal experience, 29% rely on doctors' recommendations, 17% rely on scientific literature, 13% rely on online articles, and 11% rely on friends' advice.
Experts clarified that the earlier a person begins to pay attention to his body, the faster he notices positive changes not only in his well-being, but also in his quality of life.
Earlier, on March 21, it was reported that Russians began to spend more money on sports. In 2024, the peak values of Russians' spending on sporting goods and related clothing were recorded in December, an increase of almost two times compared to January. The average check for these categories was 3.4 thousand rubles, according to VTB data.
