Hutsul stated about the pressure of the media and the lack of evidence in her case

On April 30, the head of Gagauzia, Evgenia Gutsul, commented to Izvestia on the next court session in her case, accusing the pro-government media of biased behavior and ignoring the real circumstances of what was happening.
"It's ugly. There should be no privileged media. Everyone should work according to the law," she said, stressing that in a year not a single journalist had covered the facts pointing to her innocence.
According to Hutsul, the witnesses questioned at today's meeting testified about the Shor party, but they did not know her personally.
"One witness made a mistake and said she saw me at the protests. But I can say that I have never been to the protests," Hutsul clarified.
After the court session, Hutsul spoke at a rally, thanking the residents of Gagauzia for their support and congratulating them on the upcoming May holidays.
Gutsul said on April 23 that the defense would continue to defend the truth and the adoption of correct and fair decisions by judges, even under pressure from the Moldovan government and President Maia Sandu.
On March 25, Hutsul was detained at the Chisinau airport. Her name was found on the list of persons who are prohibited from leaving the country. Later, on March 28, the head of Gagauzia was arrested for 20 days, and on April 9, the court replaced her measure of restraint with house arrest.
