Shoigu stated the need for joint reduction of strategic risks with the United States

Russia continues to convey to the United States the need to work together to comprehensively reduce strategic risks. This was announced on April 30 by the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shoigu, speaking in video format at the first session at a meeting of high representatives of the BRICS countries in charge of security issues.
"Today, we continue to consistently convey to the Americans the need to work together to comprehensively reduce strategic risks, which should have a positive impact on the state of international security," TASS quoted him as saying.
He added that the joint efforts of Moscow and Washington would have a positive impact on international security. Shoigu added that the success of the joint work of the Russian Federation and the United States to reduce strategic risks is hampered by the increasing militarization of Europe, as well as the aggressive rhetoric of NATO and the European Union (EU).
The Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation added that the European countries that are pursuing an anti-Russian policy "have apparently forgotten to whom they owe their liberation from the fascist invaders 80 years ago."
On April 25, Shoigu said that Western countries were provoking humanitarian crises and armed conflicts. He also pointed out that Western intelligence agencies are conducting informational and psychological sabotage aimed at destroying basic moral and cultural norms.
