Hyundai has registered a number of trademarks in Russia

Hyundai, which has stopped doing business in Russia, has registered a number of trademarks in Russia, Izvestia found out after examining the Rospatent database.

So, on April 25, Rospatent registered seven trademarks of the Seoul Hyundai Motor Company. These are the names of Hyundai cars: iX15, iX30, iX20, iX35, iX45, iX55, as well as the slogan Smart Shift and Drive. The exclusive right to them expires in July 2034.

Prior to that, in April Kia registered the Kia Uvo, Sorento Prime, Cerato and Picanto trademarks, and Hyundai — Tucson.

Brands that have left Russia register trademarks. What does this mean?

On April 14, it became known that Kia had updated its car sales plan for 2025 to include the Russian market. It was clarified that it contains a mention of 50 thousand Kia cars, which are expected to be sold by the end of this year.
