Witkoff: Putin sees a chance to rebuild relations with the United States

US President Donald Trump's special envoy Stephen Witkoff said that Russian President Vladimir Putin sees an opportunity to rebuild relations between Moscow and Washington. His words were reported by The Hill on April 30.
"I think that <...> he [Putin] <... He sees an opportunity to review the relations of the Russian Federation with the United States, and this is obvious," Witkoff is quoted as saying in the publication.
Earlier in the day, political scientist Anna Aryamova stressed that the agenda towards Russia in the United States has changed a lot since the arrival of the Trump administration. According to the expert, the cultural blockade of Russia, as well as the economic and information blockade, will be broken very soon.
On April 29, Trump said that Putin was easier to deal with than Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. According to Trump, he is trying to end the Ukrainian conflict, but Zelensky wants more weapons and security guarantees from the United States.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on February 10 that Trump's return to the White House meant a change of milestones in the country's foreign policy. He noted the interest of the American leader's team in resuming dialogue with the Russian side.
