A Sochi resident was sentenced to 12 years in a penal colony for transmitting data on the deployment of air defense

The Krasnodar Regional Court has sentenced a Sochi resident who transmitted information about the deployment of air defense systems to his acquaintance, a police officer of Ukraine, to 12 years in a penal colony. This was announced on April 30 by the united press service of the courts of the Krasnodar Territory.

It was established that the person involved, being a shooter of a specialized group of a security checkpoint on the railway, handed over photos and videos of the locations of air defense systems to his acquaintance, an employee of the Ukrainian police, in 2023, which could threaten the security of Russia.

The court found the man guilty under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High treason").

"Taking into account the mitigating circumstances, including active assistance to the detection and investigation of the crime, as well as detailed confessions given by the defendant, the court sentenced him to imprisonment for a period of 12 years, with restriction of liberty for a period of one year, with serving his sentence in a high—security colony," the Telegram says -the press service channel.

On April 29, a Moscow court arrested a Russian citizen in a case of treason. Details about the identity of the person involved and the nature of the crime were not disclosed. A criminal case has been opened against the man under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High treason").
