The nutritionist listed the aromatherapy oils that repel mosquitoes

Basil, tea tree and geranium oil can protect against mosquito bites. Antonina Tsvinaria, president of the Independent Association of Integrative Specialists and Projects in the Health Industry (NAIS), a family nutritionist and market expert at the Helsnet National Technology Initiative, told Izvestia on May 3.
"In addition to the classic remedies for mosquito bites, you can use aromatic oils. For example, basil, tea tree, or geranium oil. They have a repellent effect, mosquitoes do not like them," she said.
Such oils can be sprayed indoors with diffusers and applied to the skin.
If an insect does bite, it is worth treating the site of inflammation with an antiseptic or making a cold compress, said Tsvinaria.
"If the reaction to the bite is pronounced, you can make a cold lotion with ice cubes or just a cold compress. This will help to narrow the vessels, the inflammatory reaction will be less. You can also make a lotion with a soda solution," the expert said.
Mosquito bites can often be confused with the bites of other insects. The situation should be monitored. If the condition worsens, then you need to consult a doctor.
Earlier, on April 25, dermatovenerologist and cosmetologist Valeria Shapovalova told Izvestia that repellents containing DEET, picaridin or lemon eucalyptus oil will save from mosquitoes and ticks. At the same time, it is possible to combine repellents with sunscreens, but the correct sequence is important: first you should apply the cream itself, and then another remedy.
