Deputy Mayor of Moscow Sergunina spoke about the program of the Gardens and Flowers festival

The landscape festival "Gardens and Flowers" will be held at more than 70 venues in the capital. Streets, boulevards and embankments will be decorated with exhibition gardens, multi-level green ensembles, art objects with cypresses, lavender, roses and wild plants, said Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalia Sergunina.

The first works can already be seen in different parts of the city. A rose garden was set up at the monument to Alexander Pushkin, and southern cypresses up to 10 meters high appeared there, reminiscent of the poet's trips to the Caucasus. The Moscow Zoo was also transformed — its entrance group was again decorated with a vertical green composition, which became one of the most popular projects of last year.

The remaining sites will be opened in stages until the end of June. "Leading Russian landscape designers will present both the best compositions of previous years and new projects," Sergunina said.

According to the deputy mayor, one of the key themes of the festival this season will be the 80th anniversary of Victory. In particular, an alley of memory in honor of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War will appear on the Arbat. Compositions dedicated to the anniversary date will also be located on Novy Arbat, on Dorogomilovskaya Zastava Square, and on the stairs of the Russian State Library.

In June, the flagship venue of the festival, stylized as a botanical garden, will open on Manezhnaya Square. There, recreation areas, a pond with live carp and a waterfall will appear among the tropical plants.

The pedestrian streets in the center will turn into a colorful walking route. So, in June, lemon trees will appear in Kamergersky Lane, and a multi-level project with a pond and lime trees will be created on Kuznetsky Most. A bright decor with a floral accent will decorate the embankments of the capital.
