The expert told how not to overload the suburban power grid

In order not to overload the country power grids, you need to check the available power, use energy-efficient appliances, distribute the load, and regularly check the wiring. This was stated by the founder of Watts Battery, a market expert at the National Technology Initiative EnergyNet (Energynet) Yuri Vlasov told Izvestia on May 1.
"In order not to overload the cottage networks, check the available power immediately. To do this, you need to check the contract with the energy supply company or the technical specifications of your connection. For example, a standard 5 kW cottage connection allows simultaneous use of devices with a total power of no more than 5,000 watts. Make a list of all electrical appliances with an indication of their power — for example, a refrigerator — 150 watts, a heater — 2000 watts, a pump — 1000 watts," he advised.
The expert also recommended using energy—efficient devices - replacing outdated devices with modern ones with energy efficiency class A++ or higher. For example, LED lamps consume 5-10 times less energy than incandescent lamps. This reduces the load on the network, especially during peak hours.
In addition, he noted that it is worth distributing the load. Do not turn on powerful appliances at the same time, such as an electric kettle, a heater and a water pump. You should use timers or smart sockets to automatically control your devices.
"Install an energy storage device: portable or stationary storage devices allow you to store electricity during periods of low load, such as at night or when using solar panels, and use it during peak hours. This is especially true for dachas where networks are unstable. For example, a 2 kWh storage unit can power a gas boiler, flow pumps, sewage and lighting for several hours without network load," Vlasov added.
There is a myth that if the electricity goes out, the food in the refrigerator will spoil. In fact, modern refrigerators are able to keep the temperature for six to eight hours. Therefore, you should not worry about protecting the refrigerator from shutdowns, the availability of water and sewage is much more critical, the expert explained.
If the cottage is often overloaded, installing solar panels with energy storage will reduce dependence on the grid. Solar panels with a capacity of 1-2 kW are enough to cover up to 50% of the needs of a country house, especially in summer, he stressed.
"Check the wiring regularly: outdated or damaged wiring may not be able to withstand even the permissible load. We recommend that a specialist diagnose the power grid every two to three years," Vlasov concluded.
Earlier, on February 19, Kristina Vishnevetskaya, Director of business Development at Ippon, told Izvestia that in order to protect herself from an unexpected power outage, it is necessary to use various ways to obtain and store additional, backup electricity. One of these methods is an uninterruptible power supply.
