- Rostec has developed the Solaris NS system to protect territories from drones

Rosel Holding of Rostec State Corporation has developed the Solaris NS system, which will protect Russian territories from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This was announced by the company's press service on April 30.
"The complex is capable of detecting unauthorized drones and purposefully suppressing their control channels, preventing the drones from changing frequency and leaving the affected area. The operation of the product does not interfere with the functioning of other equipment using the radio. Several complexes can be combined into a cluster for circular protection of the facility," the state corporation's website says.
The system was created by the Constellation concern. It is specified that the development is an upgraded version, which combines the functionality of Solaris-O for drone detection and Solaris-N for suppression. It is specified that the complex can be placed both on the ground and on roofs or station towers. In addition, several Solaris-NS products can be combined into a single cluster to provide circular protection.
The development is unique in its combination of detection technologies and interference targeting, as noted by Rostec. Solaris-NS can suppress the widest possible range of all types of drones in the end-to-end frequency range from 100 to 6 thousand MHz. The complex can simultaneously detect at least three drones.
According to Boris Movtyan, CEO of the managing organization of Concern Constellation JSC, the development is a new stage in the development of electronic warfare technologies.
"Combining advanced solutions in the field of UAV detection and suppression, the system provides reliable protection of critical facilities from any modern threats from the air. We are confident that Solaris-NS will become a key element in the security systems of both government and commercial structures," he said.
On March 26, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, announced the need to install new highly effective air defense systems to protect against drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
