- Shor accused the Moldovan authorities of trying to erase the truth about the Great Patriotic War.

The Moldovan authorities are deliberately trying to oust the meaning of Victory Day from public memory and erase the truth about the Great Patriotic War (WWII). This was announced on April 30 by the leader of the opposition bloc "Victory" Ilan Shor.
"The attempts of the Moldovan authorities to replace Victory Day with Europe Day are not just cynicism, they are direct complicity with those who want to erase the truth about the Great Patriotic War," RIA Novosti quoted the politician as saying.
He stressed that such actions are an attempt to whitewash the Nazis and erase the memory of the heroism of Soviet soldiers.
According to him, May 9 is a sacred date for the Moldovan people, the day when fascism was crushed at the cost of millions of lives, including Moldovan heroes.
On April 23, it was reported that the Moldovan authorities banned the holding of Victory Day events in Chisinau's main square and decided that only Europe Day would be celebrated in the republic on May 9.
For these purposes, the area of the Grand National Assembly is planned to be occupied by the organization of the so-called European town.
