The work of US President Donald Trump in the field of relations with Russia is one of the key successes. On April 30, American political scientist and journalist Garland Nixon told Izvestia, commenting on the results of Trump's first 100 days in power.

"I think the Trump administration has done a good job of maintaining a positive attitude towards Russia by resisting those forces that would like them to continue the course of the Biden administration," Nixon said.

He believes that Trump, despite pressure from within the state, continues to maintain a pragmatic approach to the Russian Federation. According to him, the American leader, unlike former US President Joe Biden, is not trying to escalate the conflict. He openly advocates dialogue, which helps to reduce tension.

Despite this, Nixon criticized Trump's actions in relation to the Middle East region. He claims that the head of the United States made a promise "not to start new conflicts," but support for Israeli operations in Gaza and the escalation in Yemen indicates his non-compliance.

"Of course, he has rekindled the conflict with Yemen. He threatened Iran. I think that the anti-war part of his coalition is angry about this, and he is losing their support," the political scientist emphasized.

In addition, Nixon believes that Trump's tariff war could lead to higher prices in the country. The overall rating of the American president began to decline after 100 days, he concluded.

Earlier, on April 29, the US president announced during a rally in Michigan that under his leadership the administration had achieved the most ambitious changes in almost a century. According to him, she was able to put an end to the rule of "radical leftist madmen" in the country and now intends to begin the "golden age of America."
