A teenager who set fire to a battery cabinet on a railway in the town of Ludinovo, Kaluga region, was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison. This was reported on April 30 in the joint press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the region.
"The court found that in June 2024, the minor defendant, after communicating in a messenger with an unidentified person who actively supports the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), agreed to an offer he received to commit a sabotage event on the territory of Russia for a monetary reward," the courts wrote in the Telegram channel.
It is clarified that the teenager was convicted under paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Sabotage committed by a group of persons by prior agreement").
In addition to imprisonment, the defendant was fined 46 thousand rubles.
On April 30, a Yaroslavl resident was sentenced to 20 years in prison in a high-security penal colony in a case of treason and sabotage after setting fire to a railway on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services.
