Researchers have found out the attitude of Russians to homeopathy

32% of Russians informed about this method of treatment trust homeopathic medicines, which is 7 percentage points higher than the results of the 2017 measurement, the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM) found out. 59% of respondents consider taking such drugs to be an effective treatment method to varying degrees.
Trust is directly related to the degree of awareness, analysts have calculated. Among well-informed respondents, its level reaches 44%.
The study showed that more than half of Russians turn to specialists when choosing treatment. In 31% of cases, the decision to use homeopathic remedies was made on the recommendation of a polyclinic or hospital doctor, another 24% started taking it on the recommendation of a homeopathic doctor.
As the survey showed, personal usage experience often leads to the formation of a loyal attitude in the future. Thus, 59% of those taking homeopathic medicines have done this repeatedly or systematically. More than two thirds of active users (64%) plan to continue using such medications if their condition requires it again. Among systematic users, this figure reaches 80%.
"Prescribing medications is a doctor's area of professional responsibility. Only a specialist is competent to determine the diagnosis and select a personalized treatment regimen. This is not a matter of preference, but a standard of quality medicine, where safety and results are at the forefront," emphasized Irina Nikulina, CEO of Boiron in Russia.
When using homeopathic medicines, respondents are most satisfied with the convenience of taking medications (77% are satisfied to some extent), the absence of side effects (70%), and the completeness and clarity of information about medications (58%).
According to the study, 53% of people taking homeopathic medicines combine them with other medicines, demonstrating their commitment to the principles of integrative medicine.
