The Dorogomilovsky court of Moscow sentenced Dmitry Daudashvili, former deputy head of the special fire department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, to 15 years in a high-security penal colony for accepting a particularly large bribe. This was announced on April 30 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

Daudashvili was fined 63 million rubles, stripped of the rank of colonel and banned from holding public service positions for a period of ten years. He did not admit his guilt.

"In his last word, Daudashvili expressed a desire to go to his freedom to defend his Homeland, so that he could return and continue fighting for his honest name in court," Vladimir Shelupakhin, the convict's lawyer, told Izvestia.

According to the state prosecution, while serving as deputy head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, Daudashvili received bribes for patronage from the head of the 36th special Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Altai Territory, Viktor Velikodny.

In December 2024, the court sentenced Daudashvili and other defendants to eight years in a penal colony in a case of fraud in receiving payments. The total damage exceeded 40 million rubles.

On April 23, the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the capital reported that the Shcherbinsky District Court of Moscow sentenced employees of the ROSSETI power grid company Vladimir Mednikov and Alexey Sychev to 8.5 and 9 years in prison in a case of receiving a particularly large bribe.
