AvtoVAZ will suspend production for a week and a half

AvtoVAZ will suspend car production for the planned annual corporate vacation period (May 5-7), as well as during weekends and public holidays (May 1-4 and 8-11). This is stated in the company's message, which was received by Izvestia on April 30.

In total, from May 1 to May 11, AvtoVAZ plans to perform more than 9 thousand different works worth more than 200 million rubles. The launch of all production lines after scheduled work is scheduled for May 12.

AvtoVAZ is going to carry out preventive maintenance of the equipment and implement projects related to the development of the plant. Thus, automation of sidewall loading on welding lines will begin in Lada Granta welding production, which will increase the level of robotization of the workshop, and it is already one of the highest in the enterprise (85%).

At the Lada Iskra assembly sites, the automatic vehicle refueling line with process fluids and the motorization of the manipulator rail system for mounting the instrument panel are being upgraded. Preparations for the launch of new enamels will be underway in the Vesta paint shop, and preparations for the development of a new 1.8-liter engine for the Niva family are beginning in engine production. Work is planned related to the preparation of production of a crossover based on the Vesta platform, which is scheduled to be launched in 2026.

A number of modernization works will take place at the Lada-Izhevsk and VIS-Avto plants. AvtoVAZ also planned to reconstruct glazing, replace floor coverings, and upgrade ventilation and air conditioning systems at the enterprises.

Earlier that day, AvtoVAZ announced the launch of sales of Lada Granta family cars in updated trim levels. These are sedans and liftbacks in the maximum Club version, as well as station wagons in the Quest version.

On April 19, AvtoVAZ began production of the Lada Iskra model at the Tolyatti plant and shared the details of the new product's equipment. It will be available in three body styles: sedan, station wagon and Cross-wagon with black unpainted plastic elements on the body.
