Military investigators of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation are working with civilians evacuated from the village of Pogrebki in the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region. This was announced on April 30 by the official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia Svetlana Petrenko.
According to her, one of the local residents reported that in August 2024, an FPV drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked an apartment building in the village of Pogrebki. He clarified that his mother was in the house, as a result of the blow, she was seriously injured and subsequently died.
"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under paragraph "b" of Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act")," Petrenko said.
It is specified that in the future investigative actions will be carried out aimed at identifying the deceased and fixing traces of the use of a drone by the Armed Forces of Ukraine at a civilian facility.
Petrenko noted that the facts of the murder of Pogrebok residents by Ukrainian militants had already been recorded earlier, the investigation establishes the Ukrainian Armed Forces military involved in the crime.
On April 29, a military court sentenced five Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters to terms ranging from 15 to 16 years in prison for crimes in the Kursk region. They were found guilty under paragraphs "a" and paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("The commission by a group of persons by prior agreement of a terrorist act, which entailed the onset of grave consequences")
