Plastic furniture is suitable as an inexpensive and practical option for summer cottages. However, if aesthetics are important, then other options should be considered. Svetlana Kosareva, Hoff's chief designer, told Izvestia about how to choose garden furniture.

"For those who are looking for inexpensive cottage options, I would recommend buying plastic furniture. It does not require special care, it can be washed directly from a hose, it is not threatened by insects, besides it is light and it can be effortlessly moved from place to place," the expert noted.

She suggested that to make the set look stylish and cozy, you can put soft bright pillows and a blanket on the furniture, she added.

However, Kosareva recalled that plastic quickly fades and fades if it is exposed to the sun for a long time. The expert also believes that wooden furniture will perfectly fit into a country interior.

"It will create comfort in any part of the garden, it will be harmoniously combined with both wooden and stone houses," explained Kosareva.

However, this option has its drawbacks.: According to the expert, in dry weather the tree can crack and crack, and in rainy weather it can become covered with mold.

The designer recommended that the unpainted wood be cleaned with a brush or rag, rinsed with water, and after drying, coated with a special oil and dried.

Also, according to her, when choosing wooden furniture, it is worth giving preference to products made of eucalyptus and acacia, since these rocks are more resistant to moisture and pests.

At the same time, Kosareva added, rattan furniture, a material for weaving from various types of palm trees, is particularly popular among summer residents. However, the expert warned: when choosing such products, it is worth paying attention to the frame material and the rattan itself — whether it is natural or artificial. According to her, an aluminum frame, which is not susceptible to corrosion, is suitable for outdoor furniture, and a steel frame is suitable for terraces or indoor spaces.

"Models made of natural rattan require careful care. Their main enemy is dust. Furniture standing outside should be washed once a week with a soft brush and sponge or with a vacuum cleaner, otherwise the dust will eat into it," the expert emphasized. "Natural rattan also does not like moisture and the sun."

But artificial rattan, Kosareva noted, is not afraid of moisture, it can even be washed with a hose. It does not fade in the sun and does not suffer from temperature fluctuations. Metal furniture also does not require special care, she added. It is enough to clean the metal at the beginning and end of the season with a damp cloth and a non-aggressive detergent. Nevertheless, iron furniture should be additionally protected from rust with an anti-corrosion solution and timely painted or varnished if the old layer is damaged.

The designer warned that folding and unfolding mechanisms are particularly susceptible to rust, so it is better to choose furniture without them or treat them with a protective wax compound.

Earlier, on April 24, Yandex Market analysts told Izvestia which products have become the most popular among summer residents. It turned out that the demand for gardening equipment (lawn mowers, pressure washers, vacuum cleaners) and tools (drills, drills, screwdrivers) increased 1.5 times. And seeds and seedlings began to be bought 1.2 times more.
