Representatives of Western human rights organizations and cultural figures had no reaction to the threats addressed to Russian-speaking children in Ukraine. This was announced on April 29 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, on Sputnik radio.

This is how she reacted to a statement by actor Bogdan Benyuk, in which he called for beating children for using the Russian language.

"Where are all the world's human rights structures? Where are all the writers, artists, directors, American actors, for example, the global fashion industry <...> Where are they now after this statement? Why can't they tell the Kiev regime now: "Stop!"?" said Zakharova.

According to the diplomat, all Western statements on the situation in Ukraine were made "according to the methodology," and most of the Ukrainian leadership continues to use Russian.

On April 14, Ukrainian media reported that a woman in Zhytomyr threatened a 10-year-old girl to hand over her father to the staff of the territorial recruitment center (TCC, an analogue of the military enlistment office in Ukraine) for speaking to him in Russian. It was clarified that the conflict arose in a minibus.
