- Patrushev pointed out the importance of additional measures to neutralize threats to the security of the Russian Federation.

Additional measures are needed to neutralize threats to Russia's security at sea due to the current military and political situation. This was announced on April 30 by Nikolai Patrushev, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Maritime Board.
"In the context of the aggravation of political and economic contradictions in international relations, the role of the force factor has increased. The practice of targeted actions against the naval blockade of our country has expanded, including attempts to inspect ships in international waters and commit acts of sabotage and terrorism," he said, speaking at the Presidium of the Maritime Board.
In his opinion, the current military-political situation can be characterized by high tension. At the moment, we can also see a consistent increase in NATO's military activity in the Baltic and North Seas, in the North Atlantic and the Asia-Pacific region. He believes that it is precisely because of this that appropriate measures should be taken.
According to Patrushev, the Navy is responsible for protecting Russia's national interests in the oceans. Currently, active work is underway to equip it with modern models of various equipment.
Earlier, on March 13, Vladislav Maslennikov, director of the Department of European Affairs at the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that as NATO expands, it creates additional threats to Russia's security in the Arctic. According to him, political tensions in the region are growing.
