Since the re-election of US President Donald Trump, the United Kingdom has struck Yemen for the first time. This was reported on April 30 by the British TV channel Sky News.

"The UK has joined American forces in attacking a Houthi target in Yemen for the first time since the re—election of Donald Trump," the statement said.

It is clarified that a thorough analysis revealed buildings near Sanaa that are allegedly used to produce drones that attack ships.

According to Sky News, the Ministry of Defense confirmed that the strikes were the government's response to attacks on international vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. According to British Defense Minister John Healey, the strikes on Yemeni military installations were carried out in order to weaken the Houthis and prevent attacks on ships.

Earlier, on April 28, the Houthis from the rebel Yemeni Ansar Allah movement attacked the American aircraft carrier Harry Truman. As a result, the American ship retreated from its previous position and headed to the north of the Red Sea.
