On April 30, the Consulate General of Belarus opened in Vladivostok at the site of the embassy office, which completed its work. This was announced by the Ministry of International and Foreign Economic Relations of Primorsky Krai.

"Since April 30, 2025, a new consular mission has been established in Vladivostok — the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus (instead of the embassy branch that has completed its work)," the ministry said in a message posted on the Telegram channel.

It is specified that Igor Sokol has been appointed Consul General. This decision was agreed upon by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on March 27, 2025. The Consular District includes the Kamchatka, Primorsky and Khabarovsk Territories, the Amur, Magadan and Sakhalin Regions, as well as the Jewish Autonomous Region and the Chukotka Autonomous Region.

The ministry added that the address and contacts of the diplomatic mission remained the same.

At a briefing on April 17, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the union state of Russia and Belarus is the most advanced form of integration in the former USSR. In addition, he noted that the SG continues to be a part of the global economic process, despite restrictions and sanctions.
