The Oktyabrsky District Court of Novosibirsk confiscated 100 million rubles from a local resident in a criminal case of land fraud. This was announced on April 30 by the regional prosecutor's office.

It was established that in the period from July 2012 to February 2014, the convict legalized the property obtained as a result of fraud in order to legitimize the possession of non-residential premises and a share in a land plot worth 100 million rubles.

The man attracted uninformed citizens to organize a number of transactions that create the appearance of a bona fide acquisition of rights to stolen property. As a result of his actions, the management of this property passed to a legal entity controlled by him.

The defendant was found guilty under clause "b" of Part 4 of Article 174.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Legalization of property acquired by a person as a result of committing a crime"). He was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison, from which he was released due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for criminal prosecution. In addition, 100 million rubles were confiscated in state revenue.

"The convict also, disagreeing with the court's verdict of guilty, filed an appeal," the department's Telegram channel says.

Nevertheless, the court rejected it.

In North Ossetia, on April 29, the police revealed the embezzlement of 6 million rubles allocated for the development of a horse breeding farm. The man conspired with the 56-year-old head of the animal diseases service, and the attackers provided false information to the Ministry of Agriculture about the alleged correct expenditure of the grant. The defendants were detained and a criminal case was opened against them.
