The accused of attempted drug trafficking was extradited from Cambodia to Russia


A Russian citizen accused of attempting to illegally sell narcotic drugs has been extradited from Cambodia. Irina Volk, the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry, informed about this on April 30.
"As a result of cooperation with foreign partners through Interpol channels, the wanted man was detained in Cambodia. He will be delivered to Russia in the near future," the Interior Ministry Media portal quotes her as saying.
According to the investigation, in 2019, the accused and his accomplice illegally purchased a substance containing a derivative of the synthetic drug N-methylephedrone in Khanty-Mansiysk. In this regard, law enforcement agencies have opened a criminal case. To fulfill the instructions of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and on the basis of materials provided by the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug — Yugra, the defendant was put on the international wanted list and detained in the kingdom during operational measures.
On the same day, Volk announced the deportation from Indonesia to Russia of a Russian citizen wanted through Interpol channels, who is accused of embezzling and legalizing multimillion-dollar funds. According to the investigation, the suspect had been involved in a criminal scheme organized by the chairman of an elite horticultural society in the Leningrad Region since 2014.
