Trump decided to review some of the solutions proposed by the Department of DOGE Mask
On April 30, US President Donald Trump praised the activities of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) run by billionaire Elon Musk, but admitted that he was reviewing some of its decisions.
"There were some things that I heard about, and I brought them back. There are things that I'm currently considering to bring back," Trump said in an interview with ABC News.
He explained that Musk's department has identified numerous cases of waste and fraud in federal agencies, the damage from which is estimated at billions of dollars. Trump believes that the agency has managed to reduce the number of cases of waste in federal agencies.
"We have discovered many facts of fraud. We are done with this," the American leader added.
On April 22, Musk announced a reduction in his participation in the work of the US government's Department of Efficiency (DOGE) due to the drop in profits of his company Tesla. According to the entrepreneur, he will continue his work in the department, devoting no more than two days a week to it. He noted that his work at DOGE will continue as long as it is beneficial.
Bloomberg reported on April 21 that if Elon Musk leaves the post of head of DOGE, Russell Vaught, acting head of the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), could be appointed to replace him.
On the same day, The Washington Post reported that Musk wanted to leave his job in the government because he was tired of criticism from the left. According to the publication, Musk's status as a special government employee expires at the end of May, but it is not yet known whether this period will be extended.
