Ingushetia stopped an attempt to import more than 500 grams of the drug from the Krasnodar Territory

Ingushetia's law enforcement officers stopped the delivery of 506 g of the synthetic drug mephedrone to the republic from the Krasnodar Territory. This was reported on April 30 in the Telegram channel "MIA Media".

Police officers together with the regional directorate of the Federal Security Service (FSB) stopped a Lada Kalina car with a driver and passenger on the 564th km of the R-217 Kavkaz road. In the hidden cavity of the front panel of the vehicle, they found a package with a powdery substance wrapped in black electrical tape. The car was taken to the Federal Security Service of Ingushetia, where, upon additional examination, two more packages with similar contents were found.

"According to the expert opinion, the seized substance is mephedrone with a total weight of 506 g," the agency said in a statement.

It is specified that the prohibited substances were found in the possession of a 35-year-old resident of Nazran, a passenger of Lada Kalina. He persuaded an acquaintance to go to the Krasnodar Territory, ostensibly to buy electrical equipment for a tractor. In fact, he purchased a batch of synthetic drugs and hid them in a car panel, planning contactless distribution in Ingushetia.

A criminal case has been opened against the defendant under Article 30 ("Preparation for a crime and attempted crime"), Part 5 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal production, sale or transfer of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues"). An administrative report was also drawn up against the man, and he was taken into custody.

Law enforcement officers at Ilanskaya station detained a 22-year-old local resident who had equipped hiding places near railway tracks. A criminal case was opened against the defendant on the grounds of an attempt on the illegal sale of narcotic drugs, committed on a large scale.
