- Nebenzia criticized the speech of the UN Deputy Secretary General at the Security Council meeting on Ukraine

Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations (UN) Vasily Nebenzia on April 30 criticized Rosemary Dicarlo, Deputy Secretary General of the World Organization, for her speech during a meeting of the Security Council on Ukraine.
"We are deeply disappointed that the UN secretariat, through the mouth of Ms. Dicarlo, not only actively sings along with these fakes, but also speaks verbatim in its assessments of the long—departed Biden administration," the diplomat said.
Nebenzia clarified that at the UN Security Council meeting on the Ukrainian crisis, convened by Western countries, the secretariat actually sided with the so-called "war party", grossly violating the duty to observe impartiality prescribed by Article 100 of the UN Charter. According to him, this approach undermines confidence not only in the conclusions of the secretariat on the Ukrainian crisis, but also in the statements of its leadership about its desire to play a constructive role in a peaceful settlement.
On the same day, Nebenzia said that Russia was ready for direct negotiations with Ukraine without preconditions, despite the legitimacy of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. The diplomat added that the head of the Kiev regime refuses US proposals to resolve the conflict in order to conceal the crimes he has committed.
