Mazurin mansion to be restored in Khamovniki district


In Moscow, in the Khamovniki district, the Mazurin mansion, which has the status of a cultural heritage site of regional significance, will be restored. This was announced on Wednesday, April 30, by the official portal of the government of the capital. mos.ru .
"During the work, the facades of the building will be put in order, the roof and basements will be repaired, as well as decorative elements will be put in order," the publication says.
Mazurin's mansion is located at 5c1 Kursovoy Lane, in the historical center of the city.
The building was built in 1886 according to the design of architect and artist Ivan Mazurin, who purchased the site in order to create his own estate. The building is designed in a style close to the French Renaissance, with elements typical of the architecture of French chateaux, as well as late classicism.
The two-storey brick building has rich facade decoration. Among the preserved historical details are rusticated architraves with keystones, an inter-floor cornice with triglyphs, profiled sill cornices, paneling under windows, a crowning cornice with brackets, figured attics and other elements that will be restored during the restoration process. The original grand staircase has survived inside the mansion.
Currently, the Embassy of the Republic of Madagascar is located in the building.
Earlier, on April 24, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that work was underway in the city to restore the appearance and interiors of almost 500 cultural heritage sites. One of the largest projects that the Moscow authorities are implementing jointly with the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Russian Orthodox Church is the restoration of the Donskoy Monastery.
