- In the Chelyabinsk region, law enforcement officers have uncovered a steroid smuggling channel

Employees of the Main Investigative Department (GSU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Chelyabinsk region have completed the investigation of a criminal case against a criminal group involved in the smuggling of anabolic steroids. This was announced on April 30 by the press service of the department in the Telegram channel.
"One of the group's members, a previously convicted man born in 1999, who served as an inter-regional custodian in Chelyabinsk, was detained red-handed by officers of the UNK GU of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the region while receiving another batch of illegal substances weighing about 5 kg from accomplices. After his arrest and searches at his residential address, the police seized another 11 kg of steroids," the Interior Ministry said.
In addition, law enforcement officers confiscated computer equipment and mobile phones used in the group's criminal activities.
Subsequently, another accomplice of the crime was detained in Belgorod. He oversaw the delivery of banned substances from Kazakhstan for their further distribution across Russia.
"Currently, the criminal cases, together with the indictment approved by the prosecutor, have been sent to the Chelyabinsk Regional Court for consideration on the merits," the department said in a statement.
On April 29, the transport police in the Krasnoyarsk Territory seized more than 100 grams of mephedrone from illicit trafficking. The forensic examination concluded that the packages contained a synthetic drug. The detainee confessed that he had purchased narcotic drugs in an online store and distributed the prohibited substance in a contactless way. The total mass of the seized drug exceeded 100 g.
