Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has arrived in the Dominican Republic on a visit. This was announced on April 29 by Ksenia Soldatova, a correspondent for Izvestia.

She clarified that one of the reasons for the arrival was the opening of the Russian Embassy in the country. Previously, there was only a branch of the Russian diplomatic mission in Venezuela in the Dominican Republic.

Lavrov arrived in the capital of the Dominican Republic from Rio de Janeiro.

The Russian Foreign Ministry reported on Lavrov's visit to the Dominican Republic a day earlier, on April 29.

On April 29, at a meeting of the foreign ministers of the BRICS countries held in Brazil, Lavrov outlined in detail Russia's principled approaches related to the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. The foreign minister also stated the need to stop the Kiev regime's practice of eliminating everything related to Russia, including language, culture, Russian media, and the canonical Orthodox Church.
