The foreign ministers of the BRICS countries called for stopping the space arms race

The foreign ministers of the BRICS countries on Wednesday, April 30, called for the prevention of an arms race in outer space and its militarization.

"They also reaffirmed their support for ensuring the long—term stability of activities in outer space and preventing an arms race in outer space and its militarization, as well as threats to use force against objects in outer space," reads the declaration published after the meeting, quoted by TASS.

The meeting participants also recognized the need to ensure the use of space systems and advances in space technology for peaceful purposes.

On April 29, at a meeting of the foreign ministers of the BRICS countries held in Brazil, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov outlined in detail Russia's principled approaches related to the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. The foreign minister also stated the need to stop the Kiev regime's practice of eliminating everything related to Russia, including language, culture, Russian media, and the canonical Orthodox Church.
