The Republic of Moldova follows the path of Ukraine when it transfers its natural resources under the management of foreign companies. Lucas Leiros, a researcher at the Center for Geostrategic Studies, told the BRICS Journalists Association on April 28 in an article for infoBRICS.

"Moldova, apparently, is already following the same path as Ukraine. Like the neo—Nazi regime in Kiev, the Moldovan government is transferring the country's lands and natural resources to foreign private groups, demonstrating absolute subordination and lack of sovereignty," he said.

According to the journalist, such a policy is dangerous because it calls into question Moldova's food and financial security in the long term.

On April 15, former President of the Republic Igor Dodon stated that the Moldovan judicial system is under the control of President Maia Sandu and the PDU party. He noted that this state of affairs deprives the Moldovan leadership of trust and indicates abuse of power and actions contrary to the Constitution.

Alexei Lungu, the leader of the Moldovan opposition Chance party, said on March 27 that Moldova had turned into a "fascist captured state" during Sandu's presidency, which was fighting the opposition and stealing budget money, while the republic had become the poorest country in Europe.
