In St. Petersburg, about 30 students of the State Pediatric Medical University (SPbGMU) are involved in investigative measures in the bribery case. This was announced on Wednesday, April 30, by a source of Izvestia.
According to our interlocutor, university professors are suspected of selling grades to students for money. He clarified that two men are involved in the bribery case — a candidate of biological sciences, the author of more than 110 papers and a psychiatrist.
"The investigation found that no later than June 2023, the visitor received 71 thousand rubles from students of one of the higher educational institutions on a bank card and handed them over to the staff of the institution for fictitious exams and tests," the Main Investigative Directorate (GSU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for the region writes in its Telegram channel.
As indicated in the department, two defendants, teachers and students who acted as intermediaries in the transfer of money, were brought to criminal responsibility under art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe").
On March 12, a criminal case was opened against the director of the RANEPA branch. It was clarified that the director and one of his subordinates received a bribe from the student, which exceeded 1 million rubles, while providing him with education without exams.
