- The Times learned about the threat of disrupting the deployment of peacekeepers to Ukraine

The European Union (EU) countries will face difficulties in training troops to send them to the territory of Ukraine due to lack of funding. The deal is under threat. This was reported on April 29 by the British newspaper The Times, citing sources.
According to the publication, when the chief of Staff of the British Army, Tony Radakin, asked the defense ministers of European states if they could prepare 64,000 troops to be sent to Ukraine, they replied negatively.
Lithuanian Defense Minister Dovile Shakalene, in turn, called the inability to assemble 64,000 troops a real weakness.
As the newspaper pointed out, even 25,000 peacekeepers is too big a goal for Europe.
On April 16, Christopher Schnaubelt, former dean of the Alliance's Defense College, said that the deployment of NATO peacekeeping forces in Ukraine seemed unlikely and practically impossible. In particular, the expert noted that the Russian side simply would not agree to the deployment of the North Atlantic Alliance's peacekeeping forces in the territories of the Kiev regime.
