Russian President Vladimir Putin wants an end to the conflict in Ukraine and is ready to stop the fighting. This was announced on April 29 by US President Donald Trump in an interview with the ABC broadcasting company.

"I really believe that he [Putin] is ready to stop the fighting," the American leader said.

At the same time, he noted that the United States may impose new anti-Russian sanctions if the conflict is not resolved.

On April 27, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that negotiations with the United States on the conflict in Ukraine were moving in the right direction.
