Fire support for the assault groups was provided by calculations of FPV drones and strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) "Molniya-2" of the Center group of forces in the Red Army area. This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on Wednesday, April 30.

"The combat work of the Molniya-2 drone strike teams begins with its collection and completion with various ammunition, depending on the nature of the target being hit," the ministry noted.

Thus, the aircraft design of the UAV is used for the use of large ammunition, in addition, this form increases damage to objects of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Also, drones of this type can hit targets at a distance of more than 50 km, developing high speed.

In total, the UAV calculations account for a large number of APU equipment: cars, tanks and armored vehicles of foreign manufacture, including Leopard (Germany) and Abrams (USA) tanks. In addition, there are many strongholds, dugouts, and so on among the hit targets.

"We fly on FPV drones, hitting all the targets that are given: houses, equipment, dugouts, pillboxes, and so on. The first [my] independent release is in August 2024. I shot down two Abrams on my birthday," said the UAV operator with the call sign Spas.

Earlier, on April 29, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the calculation of the 2S23 Nona-SVK self-propelled mortar of the Center group of forces hit and destroyed an International MaxxPro armored personnel carrier in the Red Army area of the special military operation zone.
