UAV units appeared in the Dnieper flotilla
Units of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been created as part of the Dnieper flotilla, sources in the military department told Izvestia. They are armed with a whole range of drones, including FPV. They are engaged in reconnaissance, fire correction and strikes against important enemy targets.
The unit has already taken part in combat operations on several sections of the line of contact along the Dnieper River. He has already destroyed important targets — command posts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
The flotilla's area of responsibility includes, at least, the lower reaches and the Dnieper delta, the Kinburnskaya Spit, and the Dnieper Estuary. By controlling these waters, we close the enemy's exit from the ports of Mykolaiv and Kherson, military expert Dmitry Boltenkov told Izvestia.
"Active military operations are constantly taking place in this area. The Ukrainian Navy is trying to conduct raids. Our Ministry of Defense talked about the most famous of them, for example, about the unsuccessful landings of enemy naval special forces on the Kinburn Spit. They were not successful, and the enemy suffered significant losses. There are also battles for the islands. There, the enemy uses raid tactics — raid-retreat. With this type of warfare, you can't do without UAVs. They are necessary when repelling enemy attacks, destroying and pursuing maneuverable groups, including those traveling by boat, coastal firing points, observation posts, radar and visual control stations. UAVs are also indispensable for reconnaissance of the enemy's coast," he explained.
