- Nebenzia expressed gratitude to the DPRK for its help in liberating the Kursk region from the Ukrainian Armed Forces

The Russian Federation is grateful to the DPRK for its assistance in liberating the territory of the Kursk region from the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) that invaded the region. This was announced on April 29 by Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya.
"We are extremely grateful to our Korean brothers, their feat and bravery will forever remain in the memory of our people," the diplomat said.
At the same time, he stressed that the participation of the North Korean military contingent in the liberation of the Kursk region was fully consistent with international law.
On April 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked the Korean People's Army special forces soldiers who took part in the defeat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) group in the Kursk region. The Head of State noted that the actions of the Korean military fully complied with international law and the spirit of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between Russia and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, signed on June 19, 2024.
At the same time, the Central Telegraphic Agency of the DPRK reported that special forces from the republic were sent to participate in hostilities in the Russian Federation by decision of the country's chairman Kim Jong-un. The agency stressed that the Korean side will continue to support the "sacred cause of the Russian army and people."
