The number of vacancies for part-time work in the run-up to May Day jumped 1.5 times

Before the May holidays, the number of vacancies with offers of part-time work increased - in April, 60% more such vacancies were opened than in March. This was shown by the research of the recruiting platform hh.ru, conducted at the request of Izvestia. In total, since the beginning of April, about 90 thousand vacancies have been opened, allowing part-time or part-time work.

Sorters, pickers, and loader drivers are most in demand.

According to the platform, this year most of all people are looking for temporary employees in retail trade (36% of vacancies), information technology (7%), hospitality and catering (4%). The majority of ads suggest employment of around four hours a day, with options to work two to three hours at a time. In addition, every second part-time job posting states that the schedule is set by arrangement.

"During the period of long holidays, one part of the population rests, and the other part of the population works, doing it in an intensified mode. According to the Labor Code, employment on holidays and weekends is paid at least double. Another option is to take an extra day off," explained Lyudmila Ivanova-Shvets, Associate Professor of the Basic Department of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry "Human Resource Management" at the Plekhanov Russian Economic University.

According to her, more salary can be obtained just in areas that are under increased load these days - delivery, transportation, cleaning.
