Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will pay a visit to the Dominican Republic on April 30. This was announced on April 29 on the website of the Foreign Ministry.

"On April 30, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, as part of his trip to the Latin American region, will pay a visit to the Dominican Republic, the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with which is celebrated this year (March 8, 1945)," the Foreign Ministry said.

It is specified that the visit is also timed to coincide with the opening of the Russian Embassy in the Dominican Republic. During the event, Lavrov will have a conversation with the President and the Prime Minister of the state.

"The Dominican Republic is a promising partner of Russia in the Latin America and the Caribbean (LACB) region. We value the traditionally friendly relations based on the principles of mutual respect and constructive dialogue," the ministry said.

On April 29, at a meeting of the foreign ministers of the BRICS countries held in Brazil, Lavrov outlined in detail Russia's principled approaches related to the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. The foreign minister also stated the need to stop the Kiev regime's practice of eliminating everything related to Russia, including language, culture, Russian media, and the canonical Orthodox Church.
