- The Cabinet of Ministers announced the launch of the Dzhubginskaya CHPP power unit in 2030.

The power unit of the Dzhubga Thermal power plant (CHP) will be launched on January 1, 2030. A corresponding statement was published on the Russian government's website on April 29 following a meeting of the government commission on the development of the electric power industry, which was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.
"It is planned that the power unit at the Dzhubginskaya TPP will begin supplying power on January 1, 2030, and the steam—powered unit at the Krasnodarskaya TPP — from July 1, 2028," the report says.
It is specified that Russian-made equipment will be used during the construction work.
"It was also decided, as part of the implementation of the goals to achieve technological sovereignty, to approve the further implementation of the project to equip Saratov CHPP-2 and Perm CHPP-14 with domestic innovative gas turbines, taking into account the updating of technical and economic conditions," the cabinet said.
On April 8, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced an increase in demand for electricity in Russia over the past five years. According to him, on the one hand, there is an active inclusion of new technologies that reduce energy consumption per unit of production as a whole. At the same time, energy-intensive sectors such as electric transport and data centers are being expanded.
